In the new addon, the professions have undergone quite serious changes, mixing old and new, like armor plates and whetstones, up to the ability to create legendary items and journals, that grant five skill points a week (it will be possible to maximize the most resource-intensive professions, including not main characters).

There will be additional ingridients - Optional Reagents that you can use to create armor and accessories. You will be able to choose which two of the four secondary stats to apply to your crafted armor, giving you more control over what you craft. You must choose 2 different characteristics, you cannot choose two reagents and double your Strength or Intellect only. Some recipes also give bonuses to increase the duration of the buff from food or potions. Optional Reagents will only apply to crafted armor. Most crafted armor currently have 1 or 3 Optional Reagent slots. All Professions have a set of Crafter's Marks, which are Optional Reagents for increasing iLevel on crafted items. The first two are trained. Crafter's Mark II requires Cordial with Ve'nari in The Maw. III one is available through the purchase of  Formula: Crafter's Mark III, purchased from Archivist Janeera with Revered reputation with The Avowed. The source for Crafter's Mark IV is not yet known.

Relics of the Past are a special reagent that will appear in Shadowlands. Whereby we will be able to raise or lower the levels of crafted old items so that we can wear them. For example you will choose to go to Draenor locations to level up your character, but there you could not craft something, because levels of crafted items are too high for you (ex. your Night Elf at level 20), so there Relics of the Past will help you with that problem - reduce the level of the old crafting items, so you can wear those items. And after, when you will rich the high level, these Relics will allow your items to remain valuable for high-level characters. Relics can be sold and added to any craftable item - this makes them very versatile.

Achieving the final skill points can require a lot of gold and time from the player if you are pumping the profession by creating items. But there is another way - world quests, for the completion of which we will increase the level of skills. Such local quests are active for 3 days and can spawn in any zone of the ShadowLands. The player gets access to them from level 50. All teachers you can find in Oribos.

Players who have Blacksmithing, Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking or Tailoring professions now can craft Legendary armor pieces.

Now let’s take a look what will be new in each profession:

  Alchemy

Elixirist Au'pyr in Oribos (coordinates for TomTom 39.2, 40.4)

Alchemy skill in Shadowlands goes from 1-175.

In Shadowlands, potions are now divided in the profession menu as Combat Potions and Utility Potions.

Combat Potions no longer have a 1-use limit, but have 5 minutes of cooldown. Combat potions and utility potions will share a cooldown. Health potions are unaffected.

Alchemy Optional Effects can be added to armor pieces with effects such as increased durations on Flask and Food effects, and chance on hit to increase your Primary Stats for a few seconds.
