Tailoring Changes from Battle for Azeroth to Shadowlands
Tailoring Pieces are compatible with the new upcoming Optional Reagents in Shadowlands.
New Armor Sets for Tailoring include one assigned to each Covenant and a legendary set.
Like every other expansion before it, Shadowlands adds new cloth pieces and threads. Like in Battle for Azeroth, there is one common-quality cloth, one uncommon-quality cloth, a new thread, and a crafted cloth piece used in further Tailoring crafts. However, this piece is crafted with Enchanting, not Tailoring.
As of the last Shadowlands alpha build, there are currently six Tailoring sets available for crafting: One Common-quality set, Four Rare-quality sets representing each Covenant, and one Legendary-quality set. All of these sets currently have placeholder models.
There are four rare-quality sets, each representing a Covenant. These pieces currently have 3 Optional Reagent slots: One to increase the piece's item level, one to specify a piece's secondary stat, and one to add a random bonus. It is currently unknown how you obtain each armor set, but the assumption is those will be learned once you choose to join a Covenant.
Continuing with the trend from Battle for Azeroth, bandages continue to be relegated to Tailors only, with Shadowlands bringing in two new Bandages:
Shrouded Cloth Bandage - Heals 2272 damage over 8 sec.
Heavy Shrouded Cloth Bandage - Heals 3571 damage over 8 sec.
