Alchemy Changes from Battle for Azeroth to Shadowlands:
New potion types added:
Extracts, ground herbs that are used in further Alchemy crafting.
Oils, used to imbue weapons with temporary effects as well as improving Combat potions.
Alchemy Optional Effects can be added to armor pieces with effects such as increased durations on Flask and Food effects, and chance on hit to increase your Primary Stats for a few seconds.
More potions with fun combat effects similar to Battle for Azeroth's Potion of Unbridled Fury, which are further improved by the new Alchemy Oils.
Some new Utility Potions include a potion that increases your movement speed while dead.
Flasks are now homogenized, with one Flask increasing all Primary stats (dependant on specialization) and one increasing Stamina. Shadowlands adds a new category of consumables, Extracts and Oils.
Oils can be applied to weapons for interesting side effects, as well as further interactions with Combat Potions. Oils work just like old Enchanging Oils and currently last for 10 minutes.
In Shadowlands, potions are now divided in the profession menu as Combat Potions and Utility Potions. Besides the usual potions that grant stat increases, there are now a bigger number of potions with fun combat effects (like Battle for Azeroth's Potion of Unbridled Fury).
In Shadowlands, flasks have been homogenized, with only 2 new flasks added - One that increases your Primary Stat depending on your Specialization, and one that increases Stamina. The new Shadowlands cauldron uses Spectral Flasks of Power to create and supposedly will grant Spectral Flasks of Power to all specializations, even tanks.
Shadowlands currently has 8 transmute recipes, all of them currently on Placeholder stage. The new Alchemy Stone for Shadowlands, however, is already added to the alpha servers, with the same usual effects as past iterations of the Alchemy Stone - A proc that increases your best Primary stat for 15 seconds and a 40% increased effectiveness on healing and mana potions.
